From The Library Letter, October 1992:
“It’s finally here–a first look at our online catalog,
which has been in the works since we created the
first machine-readable cataloging record eighteen
years ago! GLOCAT (Geneseo Libraries Online
CATalog) includes all periodical titles, all books and
nonbook materials (such as sound recordings, video
recordings, microforms, or kits) in Milne and Fraser
libraries plus approximately 10% of the government
documents.
What we have available today is essentially the preproduction
version of the full catalog: complete with
respect to the titles held, but you will often find
incomplete item-specific information. However, all
items received by the Libraries after January 1, 1988
should be fully accessible with complete and correct
call number and location information. In addition,
the catalog is completely up-to-date: as soon as new
items are available for circulation, you will be able
to find them in GLOCAT.”
